Due to publications of several media sources questioning legitimacy of charges and issuance of a wanted warrant for Cravers, the Russian Investigative Committee announces that a criminal case against the Cravers suspected of killing their underage adopted Russian son Vanya Skorobogatov, a crime under paragraph «в», part 2, article 105 of the RCC, was opened by General Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee as early as March 5, 2011 (long before the U.S. court).

General Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee has decided to separate criminal case against former employees of punitive system Dmitry Kratov and Larisa Litvinova from the general case on Sergey Magnitsky’s death. This decision is based on the necessity to end the investigation and forward the case to court.

Today the General Investigative Directorate of the Russian investigative Committee charged Lom-Ali Gaytikayev with Anna Politkovskaya’s murder due to her professional activity committed by an organized contracted group (paragraphs “б,ж,з”, part 2, article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code). Gaytukayev has been interrogated as the accused. He would not admit his guilt in any of these crimes.
