In Krasnodar Territory, two attempted suicides of teenage girls urged to kill themselves via social networks stopped

The Krasnodar Territory Office of the Investigative Committee is investigating an attempt to entice an 11-year-old girl to commit suicide under Article 110 of the RF Penal Code.

As was established, from February to March 2017, an unidentified person in Blue Whale group on a social networking website in a game form offered the girl to do some suicide-related actions and later urged her to take her onw life. For refusing to obey the person threatened to kill her parents. On 2 March 2017, the girl went to the roof of a 5-floor building, but fortunately couldn’t finish her intention as was broken up by an eye-witness. Investigators have ordered a psychiatric evaluation, a forensic medical and other examinations to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In addition, the same investigative authority is running a check into 9 March 2017 attempted suicide of a 15-year-old girl in the settlement of Kuahchevskaya. The girl also chatted with an unidentified person who offered her tasks, the final one of which was a suicide.

At present, the investigators together with operative divisions are taking all possible steps to find out all the details surrounding the two attempted suicides. They are identifying and questioning the girls’ friends, parents, relatives and teachers.
