Suspect of attacking ambulance driver detained in Pskov Region

Following media reports on an attack at an ambulance driver the Pskov Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in deliberate infliction of mild bodily harm under part 2, item “a” of Article 115 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 10 March 2017, an ambulance crew arrived to help a pregnant woman in Nikolskaya street in the village of Rodina, Pskov District. After the paramedics decided to take the woman to hospital, here aggressive partner tried to stop them. The ambulance driver sustained nose fractures and a concussion. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The investigators have detained the suspect today in accordance with Article 91 of the RF Criminal Procedure Code and he is going to be charged.

The Investigative Committee is going to give tough legal assessment to such acts of violence against doctors, as those who hurt doctors or any other medical workers violate not only their rights, but the rights of citizens on getting timely medical aid.
