In Chelyabinsk Region, probe launched against local resident suspected of injuring paramedics

17 March 2017

On 9 March 2017, some local residents found a man in a house in Energetikov Street in the town of Troitsk without any signs of life. An ambulance crew arrived and determined that the man was drunk and provided him with necessary medial aid. The patient came round and hit a paramedic and an attendant several times. He then fled but was detained by police.

The Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee asked that the case files should be passed over from the police. Investigators have run necessary checks and opened an investigation against the 33-year-old man suspected of battery under Part 1 of Article 116 and a death threat or a threat of grievous bodily harm under Part 1 of Article 119 of the RF Penal Code.

At present, urgent investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is under personal control of the head of the Chelyabinsk Region investigative authority.
