The Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched another criminal investigation following the Airbus A321 crash over a crime under part 3 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (unsafe services).

At the present time, investigators of the Moscow Interregional Transportation Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are conducting searches in the offices of Kogalymavia Airlines and Brisco travel agency, and at the home airport Domodedovo. During the searches the investigators are going to confiscate documents related to the activity of the air carrier, operation and maintenance of the plane. Using these, the investigators are going to find out how thoroughly and correctly the plane and the crew had been prepared for the flight. In addition the investigators are going to interview the staff involved in preparing the plane and the crew.

Besides, investigators of the Volga Transportation Investigations Directorate are taking samples of fuel and documents related to the pre-route check of the plane in Samara, the last place the plane had been fuelled.

Both cases under article 238 and 263 of the RF Penal Code will soon be joined to form a single law suit. The investigation will be carried out by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.
