Investigators to press final charges against 5 killers of Boris Nemtsov

The Major Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee is investigating the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov committed in Moscow on February 2015.

Today the investigators are going to press final charges against Zaur Dadayev, Anzor and Shadid Gubashev, Temirlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhayev. They are going to be charged with a contract murder committed by an organized group and illegal purchase, carrying, transportation and storage of firearms (paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code and part 3 of article 222 of the RF Penal Code).

Case against another accomplice Beslan Shavanov was finished in November 2015 due to his death during a suicide bombing in the city of Grozny when the police were trying to hold him.

The cases against Ruslan Mukhudinov, who ordered and organized the murder and who has been wanted around the world since November 2015 and other unidentified people are planned to be severed to form separate law suits.

The investigators are going to finish the case in January 2016 and give the files to the victims and their representatives for reading and after that to the accused and their lawyers.

Involvement of all the accused is confirmed by the evidence gathered, including more than 70 complex forensic expert examinations (situational, phonographic, psychological, DNA and criminalistical), interviews of witnesses, confrontations, examinations of objects and documents confiscated during searches in the residences of the accused and protocols of procession of CCTV footage including those set at the murder scene and the places from where the accomplices went in and out.
