The Amur Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened an investigation against the chief engineer of the Vostochny space launching site directorate suspected of a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (grand bribery).

Earlier, on 18 January 2016, the suspect was detained in a car parked near one of the buildings in Tekhnicheskaya street in the village of Uglegorsk while he was taking 50 thousand rubles for general patronage in the form of problem-free signing of operation documents and acceptance certificates. A criminal investigation was launched then.

During investigative and search operations carried out together with the Amur Region Office of the Federal Security Service, information has been required that between April 2014 and March 2015 the suspect got a bribe of 1 million rubles via two middlemen for signing operation documents and acceptance certificates of construction of roads at the Vostochny space launching site.

Criminal investigations were also launched against the middlemen over crimes under part 4 of article 291.1 of the RF Penal Code (intermediacy in brand bribery).
