Victims, accused and lawyers to start reading fires of Nemtsov murder case soon

The Major Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee is investigating a case over the murder of Boris Nemtsov committed in Moscow in February 2015.

Charges have been pressed against Zaur Dadayev, Anzor and Shadid Gubashev, Temirlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhayev. They are charged with a contract murder in an organized group and illegal purchase, carrying, transportation and storage of firearms (Part 2, items “g” and “h” of Article 105 and Part 3 of Article 222 of the RF Criminal Code).

Today the accused were informed that the investigation was finished and soon they and their lawyers will start reading the files of the case in accordance with Article 217 of the RF Criminal Procedure Code.

Charges against Beslan Shavanov were dropped in November 2015 as he had blasted himself while being detained in Grozny.

The case against Ruslan Mykhydinov, the man who ordered and organized the crime and has been wanted since November 2015, and other unidentified people, has been severed to form a separate lawsuit.

The fact that all the accused were involved in the crime is confirmed by the evidence, including conclusions of more than 70 complex forensic inquiries (situation, phonographic, psychological, DNA and comprehensive forensic ones), interviews of witnesses, confrontations, examinations of objects and documents confiscated during searches in the residences of the accused and protocols of analysis of CCTV footage, including that from the cameras set at the murder scene and the places the assassins came up to and took off from.
