In Kostroma Region, man detained on suspicion of negligent death of his father – Great Patriotic War veteran

The Kostroma Region authorities of the Investigative Committee have opened a criminal investigation into infliction of grievous bodily harm that entailed death of an 84-year-old resident of the settlement of Kady, Kostroma Region (Part 4 of Article 111 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, the veteran’s 60-year-old son came to his flat in the afternoon of 16 February 2016. They had a fight and the son beat the father and left. The victim died at the scene.

At present the suspect has been detained and the investigator has asked a court to place the man in custody pending the trial. Investigative operations are underway to find out the motive and all the details of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
