In Moscow, probes launched against management of organizations responsible of maintaining elevators in Alye Parusa housing estate

The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against the management of commercial organizations responsible for maintenance of the elevators in Alye Parusa housing estate over a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code (rendering services that do not meet safety standards and has entailed death of a person by negligence).

According to investigators, on 14 January 2016, a 36-year-old woman died in one of residential buildings in Aviatsionnaya Street in Moscow when an elevator broke due to a technical failure.  

As became known earlier, electrician of OOO Liftgarant Aleksei Belousov has been taken into custody and charged with unsafe services (Part 2 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code).

Thanks to well-planned joint work of the investigators of the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee and Moscow Prosecutor’s Office, new details of the tragedy that happened due to negligence of the management and workers of OOO DS Ekspluatatsiya and OOO Liftgarant have been revealed.

At present, a set of investigative activities are underway to identify those among the management of the organizations involved in the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
