In Moscow, probe launched in nonpayment 63 million rubles of wages to workers

On 14 April 2016, a complaint was received to a live Q&A session with the Russian President that wages had not been paid for more than 5 months to workers of BTS-Gidrostroy who built a bridge in North Ossetia-Alania.

The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee immediately launched an investigation into a crime under Part 3 of Article 145.1 of the RF Penal Code (nonpayment of wages and other payments for over two months committed out of mercenary or other personal motives that entailed serious consequences).

According to investigators, wages have not been paid to the workers of the said company since December 2015 by unidentified persons from among the management of OOO BTS-Gidtrostroy while they had financial opportunity to do that which is a violation of the Russian Constituion, labor laws and the conditions of the labor contracts concluded with the workers. The debt before over 750 workers now stands at over 63 million rubles.

At present a number of search and investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the crime and to detain the persons involved. The company’s offices have been searched and documents and electronic data carriers relevant for the investigation have been confiscated. The staff are being questioned. All possible measures are going to be taken to compensate for the damage done to the victims. The investigation is ongoing.
