Former Deputy Head of territorial office of federal state property management agency in Ingushetia to stand trial for abuse of office

The Ingushetia Directorate of the Investigative Committee has finished the investigation against 45-year-old former deputy head of the Ingushetia office of the Federal State Property Management Agency Batyr Bankhayev. He is charged with a crime under Part 1 of Article 286 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of powers entailing considerable violation of rights and legal interests of organizations and state interests protected by the law).

According to investigators, on 27 April 2012 and 7 November 2013, the accused approved and agreed the landmark plans for the land of Erzi state nature reserve reducing the area of the land of the reserve by 68 million square meters. This way his actions caused the state damage of over 9.7 million rubles.

The said actions of the accused entailed considerable violation of rights and legal interests of organizations and state interests protected by the law.

A number of procedural and investigative operations have been carried out during the inquiry, including: the accused and a lot of witnesses, including the officials of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Government of Ingushetia, workers of the nature reserve have been questioned and a number of complex forensic expert examinations. The accused has been released on recognizance. There are 14 case files.

At present the investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case with the approved indictment has been referred to court.
