In Moscow Region, probe reopened against Dmitry Lukin charged with killing Dzezhinsky mayor in 2006

On 9 May 2016, the Moscow Region Directorate of the Investigative Committee reopened the criminal investigation against Dmitry Lukin charged in absentia in 2006 with the murder of the head of the city of Dzerzhinsky (Part 2 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, on 30 March 2006, Niktor Dorkin, Head of Dzerzhinsky, was gunned down at a playground not far from his own residence. The killers made at least 40 shots at hem and then took off. Two killers Sergei Bulavinov and Igor Zolotenkov have been identified, apprehended and then convicted. The agents failed to hold organizer of the murder Dmitry Lukin at once so he was wanted. The criminal case against him has been severed to form separate proceeding. Later he was charged in absentia and the court ruled to remand him in custody. In August 2007, the court sentenced Bulavinov to 15 years and Zolotenkov to 9.5 years in prison.

Dmitry Lukin was detained at Vnukovo Airport on 9 May 2016.

Soon the Moscow Region Directorate of the Investigative Committee will carry out a number of investigative operations to collect and catalogue the evidence.
