Leader of gang that was part of Aslan Gagiyev’s criminal community jailed

A court has recognized the evidence collected by the North Caucasus Federal District Directorate of the Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Oleg Dzarakhokhov, a leader of a gang which was a unit of the criminal community headed by Aslan Gagiyev. He was found guilty of crimes under Part 1 of Article 210 of the RF Penal Code (leadership of a unit of a criminal community), Part 1 of Article 209 (leadership of a gang), Part 2, items “a” “f”, “g” and “h” of Article 105 (murder), Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, items “a” “f”, “g” and “h” of Article 105 (attempted murder), Part 2, item “d” of Article 112 (deliberate infliction of medium range injuries), Part 3, item “a” of Article 111 (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm), Part 2 of Article 167 (deliberate damage of other’s property), Part 3 of Article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms).

The court and investigators have revealed that in 2009, Oleg Dzarakhokhov joined the criminal community Aslan Gagiyev had set up in Moscow and North Ossetia-Alania. He was in charge of organizing armed assaults by the members of the gang he headed.

The following crimes were committed with active participation of Dzarakhokhov: murder of Viktor and Vladislav Bagayev in North Ossetia-Alania in 2011; murder of Soslan Khugayev in the town of Vladikavkaz in 2011; murder of Vadim Dzhioyev in the town of Vladikavkaz in 2011; murder of Aslan Torchiyev and Albeg Playev in the town of Beslan in 2013; attempted murder of Tamerlan Torchiyev and infliction of grievous bodily harm to Aslanbek Torchiyev and attempted murder of Ruslan Beaytsiyev in the town of Vladikavkaz in 2012.

In addition, Dzarakhokhov was involved in illegal circulation of firearms, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices.

The court has sentenced Dzarakhokhov to 19 years in prison.

As became known earlier, the criminal organization set up and led by Aslan Gagiyev started operation in 2004 and had over 50 members. Gang members committed over 49 crimes in Moscow, Moscow Region and North Ossetia-Alania killing 60 people, including law-enforcement officials, officials of the republic and the city levels, businessmen and others. By the present moment 3 gangsters including the gang leader Aslan Gagiyev and his right hand Artur Dzhioyev have been detained in foreign countries and are waiting to be extradited to Russia. 

The North-Caucasian Federal District Directorate of the Investigative Committee continue investigative operations necessary to find out all the details of all the crimes and to bring to justice the involved ones.
