A sambo competition organized at the initiative and with the support of the Kurgan Region Office of the Investigative Committee, Shchuchye inter-district office of the local investigative Authority, Shchuchyev children’s and youth sports school and the local Federal of Sambo, has been held for the first time in the town of Shchuchye, Kurgan Region.

The organizers name as the competition’s main objectives keeping the memory about the employees of the Investigative Committee killed in the line of duty, popularization of the service in the Investigative Committee and healthy lifestyle among the younger generation, strengthening of friendly liaisons among the students of sambo schools and raising the sports skills of athletes. Students of Shchuchye sports school took part in the competition.

Young sambo wrestlers competed in eight weight categories. The winners are: Andrei Botov 24 kg; Konstantin Ryazanov 26 kg; Vyacheslav Martynov 28 kg; Sergei Kharin 30 kg, Andrei Stukhanskikh 32 kg; Aleksei Koksharov 35 kg; Koryakin Vadim 38 kg; Sergei Kirillov over 38 kg.

Vyacheslav Martynov became the best wrestler of the competition while Yevgeny Rudik – the best judge.

The winners got Cups, medals and diplomas from the organizers of the competition. Second and third prize winners got medals and diplomas.

The awarding ceremony was attended by head of the Kurgan Region Office of the Investigative Committee Pyotr Krupenya, head of Shchuchye inter-district office of the Kurgan Region Office of the Investigative Committee Svetlana Pestereva, executive director of Shchuchye district NGO Federation of Sambo Babken Ambartsumyan.
