A court has recognized the evidence collected by the Krasnoyarsk Territory Office of the Investigative Committee sufficient to convict a 26-year-old resident of the city of Abakan, who was found guilty of crimes under Part 2, items “a”, “c” and “j” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder), Part 2, items “c”, “d” and “e” of Article 126 (kidnapping), Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, items “c”, “d” and “g” of Article 126 (attempted kidnapping), Part 1 of Article 161 (robbery), Part 2 of Article 167 (deliberate destruction of property) and his 24-year-old accomplice found guilty of crimes under Part 5 of Article 33, Part 2, items “e” of Article 126 of the RF Penal Code (complicity in kidnapping), Part 5 of Article 33, Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, item “g” of Article 126 (complicity in attempted kidnapping), Article 316 (concealment of crimes).

The investigators have revealed that on the evening of 15 June 2015, a 26-year-old boyfriend of a woman from the town of Minusinsk came to confront her, however the woman was not at home. He called her and said that he was waiting for her. Fearing a possible conflict, the woman called her friend and asked her to accompany her for some support. The two women came to the flat together and had the second woman’s 3-year-old daughter with them. The woman and the man had a row and the woman’s friend stood up for the woman who wanted to break up with the accused. During the quarrel the man stabbed the woman’s friend to death. After killing her, he decided to kidnap her daughter and his girlfriend as well as to take the body to an abandoned summer cottage and burn it.

To do all that the man employed a friend of his, a 24-year-old resident of the city of Abakan, who worked as a taxi driver. The latter arrived to the murder scene and by that time the 26-year-old man had intimidated his girlfriend threatening to kill her and the girl. He took the women’ cell phones and money and made her to wash away blood. The 26-year-old then took the girl downstairs to his car, while his accomplice was watching the woman. Then both men carried the body out the flat and at that moment the woman managed to lock herself up in the flat and call the police. The two men took off and took the girl and the body with them. The police started the manhunt immediately. The culprits arrived to a cluster of summer cottages on the outskirts of Abakan, picked an empty cottage and carried the body inside. After that the 24-year-old took off, while the 26-year-old man took the child inside the house and stabbed her to death. He then set the house with two dead bodies inside on fire and fled. The police detained the accomplices at dawn.

The accused admitted their guilt. Medical an biological, DNA and fire tests were conducted during the investigation. The crime had been committed in Krasnoyarsk Territory, but finished Khakassia, so the investigation was conducted by officials of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Directorate of the Investigative Committee, however, the sentence was passed by the Supreme Court of Khakassia.

The court has sentenced the 26-year-old resident of Abakan to life in prison to be served in a special-security penal facility. His accomplice got 6 years in a maximum-security penal facility and a fine of 100,000 rubles. The court also satisfied the 2.5 million rubles worth civil actions filed by the victims.
