On 1 June 2016, a woman from Usman District, Lipetsk Region said on one of federal TV channels that she had received improper medical treatment for injuries after a traffic accident which made her a disabled person.

According to the young woman after the accident she had been treated in the intensive care ward in one of Lipetsk hospitals. She became a wheelchair invalid and was sent to a hospice and denied necessary rehabilitation. In addition she told about illegal actions of her mother and step father who were alcoholics and had expressed intentions to get rid of the physically-challenged woman.

The woman’s story was enough for regional investigative authority to organize a check.

The investigators are going to verify the story, to check fullness and legality of actions of the hospital’s staff, law-enforcement and social officials.

A procedural decision will be made following the check and proper legal qualification will be given to the actions of officials.
