The Kaliningrad Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened two criminal cases over a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of a child).

The police got a report of the crime in the evening of 4 June 2016. According to investigators the murder of two brothers aged 7 and 11 years might have been committed by their 44-year-old father. His dead body was also found during the search of the attic of a house in Chalayev Street in Kaliningrad. According to preliminary data, the day before the crime, the man had picked his elder son from a summer camp, had taken him to a flat in a newly constructed block of flats in Malaya Lesnaya street. He killed the boy by hitting him hard in his head and torso. Presumably, the man then went back to the flat in Chapayev Street where he lived with his family and killed his younger son in the same manner. His wife and mother of the boys was at work at the time.

According to the investigators, the man them killed himself on the attic of the house in Chapayev Street.

The investigators are now checking this version along with others. They are looking into the details of the crime, including the causes and motives. Forensic medical and other inquiries have been assigned. The investigation is ongoing and the two criminal cases are going to be joined to form a single lawsuit.
