Dead body of an Azerbaijani national was found on 20 June 2016 at Sofiyskaya vegetable depot in Frunzensky District of Saint Petersburg. The Saint Petersburg Directorate of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder).

According to investigators the victim and his compatriot had a fight during which the latter one shot the former several times and killed him. The attacker tried to run away, but was detained by eye-witnesses who had to use force to stop the armed man. At present the man is in hospital and his life is out of danger.

The investigators are examining the scene, identifying and questioning possible witnesses, assigning necessary inquiries and looking into the details of what happened. Restraint and charges are expected soon. The investigation is continued.
