On 21 June 2016, a federal TV channel showed a story that the authorities refuse to provide housing to an elderly woman living in a house under the threat of collapse in Nizhegorodsky District in Nizhny Novgorod. The Nizhny Novgorod Region Office of the Investigative Committee has launched a pre-investigative check into the matter.

At the moment investigators are looking into all the details of the incident. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
