Meeting with representatives of Dutch Openbaar Ministerie related to investigation into Malaysian Boeing crash in 2014

Officials of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor General’s Office met today with representatives of the Openbaar Ministerie of the Netherlands (Public Prosecution Service) who came to Moscow to have talks on legal cooperation in the investigation into the Malaysian Boeing plane crash that happened on 17 July 2014. At the meeting the representatives of the Investigative Committee once more confirmed their intention to provide all necessary assistance to the international inquiry in order to find out the truth about the tragedy.

However, I have to admit that at the moment only the Investigative Committee passes on the information it has on the crash. The Netherlands do not share any data though bilateral exchange of information would have speeded up the investigation considerably.

In addition, it is peculiar that the official investigation has been ignoring numerous requests about providing such important data from Ukraine as initial radar data, conversations between military flight controllers and those between servicemen.

The Investigative Committee hopes that the materials gathered by the Russian investigators and sent to the Netherlands and according to them joined to the case will make a considerable contribution to finding out the circumstances and reasons for the Malaysian Boeing plane crash.
