In Crimea Artek international children center launches new "Young Investigator" educational project


On August 11, 2016 thanks to active participation of employees of the Russia's Investigative Committee and the Academy of the RF Investigative Committee, Artek International Children Center started realization of a new educational program - "Young Investigator", aimed to make children and teenagers interested in learning more about work of investigator and prosecutor-criminalist, to raise the level of legal education and legal culture of growing generation.

For the Russia's Investigative Committee, popularization of investigator's profession and organization of career guidance work with children and teenagers is one of most important tasks, set by the Chairman of the Committee.  Despite of a strong interest in modern society towards activity of law enforcement bodies, today there are no standard programs of young investigators, which would meet present day demands.

At the same time, relevance, social importance and educational viability of this field can not be overestimated. That is why it was necessary to establish such a program, which also contribute in forming a positive regard of youth to service in law enforcement bodies of the Investigative Committee, positive motivation to enter corresponding educational institutions under the Committee and to create conditions for legal and civil education, training of teenagers. 

It is impossible to realize such task without succession in development, succession in education, without reliance on achieved results. So it is planned to involve acting employees of the Russia's Investigative Committee, academic staff and students of the Committee's educational institutions and veteran investigators to realize the program.

Taking into account importance of the event, its topic orientation and special attention from society, the launch of the project was attended by head of Directorate of Media Relations in the Russia’s Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin. He gave start to the event and noted its important role in formation of future professional orientation of young people. Moreover, Vladimir Markin answered questions of Artek campers, related to work of the Russia's Investigative Committee investigators.

The opening ceremony was attended by academic staff and students of the Russia's Investigative Committee Academy, authorities and employees of the Crimea Republic Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia's Investigative Committee, veteran investigators and journalists.  Young students were demonstrated an educational film about work of investigators and operatives in the incident site. 

During next following days of training, children together with students of the Investigative Committee's Academy, students of cadet classes of the Investigative Committee, children of fallen employees and prosecutor-criminalists of the Crimea Republic Main Investigations Directorate will learn about history of preliminary investigation in Russia, basics of cryptography and encryption methods, will practice in making identikits using specialized programs and will see possibilities of mobile forensic laboratory. Also it is planned to introduce physical practice, basic self defense skills training and organize a "Young Pathfinder" routing game.  

Following a ceremony, devoted to start of the program, students of cadet classes of the Investigative Committee, students of the Investigative Committee's Academy, employees of the Crimea Republic Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia's Investigative Committee, camp leaders and Artek campers sang a song called "Rodina" ("Motherland").

The same day, a mini-football tournament for the cup of the Russia’s Investigative Committee was held among teams of the Investigative Committee and Artek International Center. After the match, Alexander Bastrykin was solemnly accepted in pioneers.
