The Perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee continues investigation into a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of a minor) after a 10-year-old boy went missing on 5 June 2016.
On 16 August, the boy’s body was found in Industrialny District of Perm. The suspect, a 27-year-old homeless man from Ivanovo Region was held today. He has been charged with a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of a minor).
It is known that the boy was a third-grader and lived with his parents and younger sister in a summer cottage in Industrialny District of Perm. On 5 June 2016, he left home and went missing. Before that he had run away from home several times, that’s why he was registered at the local police department. The boy’s body was found in an abandoned sewer in Industrialny District of Perm on Kosmonavtov highway.
Investigators together with criminalists of the regional office of the Investigative Committee, using high-tech forensic equipment have examined the crime scene. A forensic medical inquiry has been assigned to find out cause of death, detect any injuries of criminal nature, their position and how they were inflicted. According to preliminary conclusions, the boy died violent death. The 27-year-old man from Ivanovo Region was wanted for the boy’s murder and was held today following massive search.
The investigators have revealed that on the evening 5 June 2016, the man met the boy near a heating main in Industrialny District of Perm, attacked him and then killed. To conceal the crime he threw the body down the abandoned sewer and covered it with earth. A lot of investigative operations have been done during the preliminary investigation. The investigators have questioned a lot of witnesses, checked the evidence, examined the crime scene and are now running some forensic inquiries.
The accused is now expecting to be remanded in custody pending trial. It was also revealed that the accused has previous convictions and was on the run. He has not lived in the place where he is registered for a long time, and is now homeless with no legal source of income. Investigative operations are now underway to find out all the details and motives of the crime. All possible measures will be taken to find and eliminate all the reasons and conditions that had contributed to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
