The Transbaikalian Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into the murder of a 10-year-old boy and attempted murder of his 12-year-old relative in Chernovsky District (Part 2, items “c” and “e” of Article 105, Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, items “a”, “c” and “e” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code).

On the evening of 30 August 2016, some local residents sent the children to water some plants in the garden near the cottage. Three hours later thee did not came back home or called, so the relatives went to search for them. The parents found their children in a greenhouse in the garden with multiple hacking wounds.

According to investigators, an unidentified person deliberately hacked the children. The boy died at the scene, while the girl was taken to a hospital with a brain injury.

At the present time investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the details and the motive of the crime, as well as to identify people (person) responsible for it. Experienced criminalists of the regional office of the Investigative Committee have joined the probe and are now working at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
