The Transbaikalian Territory Office of the Investigative Committee continues investigating the murder of a 10-year-old boy and attempted murder of his 12-year-old relative in Chernovsky District (Part 2, items “c” and “e” of Article 105, Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, items “a”, “c” and “e” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code).
On the evening of 30 August 2016, some local residents sent the children to water some plants in the garden near the cottage. Three hours later thee did not came back home or called, so the relatives went to search for them. The parents found their children in a greenhouse in the garden with multiple hacking wounds.
On the evening of 31 August, the officers of the regional office of the Investigative Committee and operatives got information that a 35-year-old man living nearby may have been involved in the crime. He has been detained and confessed to the crime. The man was presumably drunk when he was committing the crime. The man said that he and the children had had a dispute of the vegetables growing in the garden and during that quarrel he had struck the children with a hammer.
The investigators keep questioning the suspect and have already checked his testament on the scene. Soon they are going to request a court to put the man in custody pending trial. The injured girl is still in the intensive care in grave condition. Doctors are fighting for her life. Investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
