The Ulyanovsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has finished the investigation against an expert of the land ownership registration department and deputy head of the inter-municipal department of the Ulyanovsk Region Office of the Federal State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography Service, a land management engineer of the Technical Inventory Bureau, a governmental unitary enterprise, and against a specialist of the property relations department of the Ulyanovsk Region Multifunctional State and Municipal Services Center. The officials and their accomplices are charged with a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, from 2013 to 2015, the accused acted as an organized group to forge documents and steal property of the Laishevka rural administration of Ulyanovsk District, namely plots of land located in the settlement of Laishevka worth more than 2.6 million rubles. The accomplices then sold the land to a third person.

The illegal activity of the perpetrators was broken up by joint operations of the Investigative Committee and Ulyanovsk Region Office of the Federal Security Service.

At present the criminal case with the approved indictment has been referred to court.
