In Moscow, one of leaders of Orekhovo-Medvedkovo gang gets 25 years

A court has recognized the evidence collected by the Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Andrei Pylyov, 54. He was found guilty of crimes under items “a” and “m” of Article 102 of the RSFSR Penal Code (aggravated murder out of mercenary motive by a group of people in collision), Part 2, items “a”, “f”, “g” and “h” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (robbery-related murder of two or more people committed by a generally dangerous method, by an organized group).

The court and investigators have revealed that there was a criminal community acting in Moscow in the early 90s and consisting of Orekhovo and Medvedkovo gangs. Andrei Pylyov was one of the leaders of the criminal community. Between 1995 and 2001, he committed 8 murders and 4 attempted murders using both firearms and explosives. The gangs controlled businessmen and their businesses and extorted money for protecting against criminals.

The community had more than 30 members, against whom more than 10 convictions have been issued since 2004.

The court has sentenced Pylyov to 25 years in a maximum-security correctional facility, previous conviction added up.
