On 30 September, police got a report that there was a fire in a single-family house in a settlement in Novosokolniki District. Firemen of the Emergency Minsitry’s Pskov Region Directorate found dead bodies of three children aged between 2 months and 2 years at the fire scene. The Pskov Region Office of the Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the RF Penal Code (reckless homicide).

As is known by now, the fire happened at about 1 a.m. on 30 September 2016 and the preliminary cause of the fire is short circuit.

An investigative team continues working at the fire site. Following the instruction of the head of the regional investigative authority, experienced criminalists have joined the investigation.
