In Kaluga Region, local woman charged with killing adopted child

The Kaluga Region Office of the RF Investigative Committee has charged a 28-year-old resident of the town of Lyudinovo with killing her 4-year-old adopted daughter (Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, from 17 to 23 September 2016, the accused, who live in a single-family house in the town of Lyudinovo, beat the girl with hands and a wooden mop on her head and torso. The girl died at the scene. To conceal the crime, the woman and her 32-year-old husband buried the girl’s body in a forest. Following a request of investigators, a court has ruled to place the woman in custody pending trial.

The woman has not admitted her guilt during a questioning. At present, investigative operations are underway to gather evidence. The investigators are going to have the woman tested. The Investigation is ongoing.
