The Krasnoyarsk Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against a 55-year-old woman suspected of crimes under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, items “a” and “c” of Article 105 (attempted murder) and Part 1 of Article 105 (murder).

According to investigators, on 29 October 2016, in the village of Kostenki, Nazarovo District, the 55-year-old woman hacked her sleeping husband with an ex on his head. The man died later in a hospital. She then went to the other part of the house occupied by his son and his family. The woman hacked at her 8-year-old granddaughter and 10-year-old grandson. The children’s father heard the children screaming and ran to the room. He disarmed his mother and locked her in a detached room before police arrived. The children were taken to a hospital with head traumas. At present their lives are out of danger.

At present the suspect is being questioned and is going to be evaluated by psychiatrists. A set of investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
