In Transbaikalian Territory, two local residents found guilty of killing women in 2010

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Transbaikalian Territory Office of the Investigative Committee sufficient to convict 37-year-old Aleksei Pyannikov and 26-year-old Oleg Antsyferov. The latter was found guilty of a robbery-related murder committed in collision (Part 4, item “c” of Article 162, Part 2, items “g” and “h” of Article 105 of the RF penal Code) and Pyannikov of a robbery related murder and rape  of two people committed in order to conceal another crime (Part 4, item “c” of Article 162, Part 2, item “b” of Article 131, Part 2, items “a”, “g”, “h” and “j” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code).

The court and investigators have established that drunk Pyannikov and Antsyferov attacked a 52-year-old woman and killed her by stabbing at least 20 times to the chest in June 2010, on the bank of the Turga River not far from Bezrechnaya railway station in Olovyannaya District, Transbaikalian Territory. They stole from her a Minsk motorcycle. Then Pyannikov raped a 19-year-old girl threatening to kill her and strangled her in order to conceal the rape. The two men buried the bodies.

The women were missing since 2010. In 2016, the crime was solved by criminal investigators of the regional investigative authority together with the officers of the crime detection office of the territorial police department. Investigators managed to find out all the circumstances of the crimes during search and investigative operations. They found victims’ remains using latest forensic equipment, including a georadar received last year. DNA tests of biological evidence found at the scene confirmed the version of double murder. Pyannikov and Antsyferov pleaded guilty under the load of the evidence.

The court has sentenced Pyannikov to life in a special-security correctional facility and Antsyferov to 21 years in a maximum-security correctional facility.
