In Vladimir Region, local resident detained on suspicion of two major personal crimes

The Vladimir Region Office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against a 22-year-old resident of the town of Kovrov suspected of crimes under Part 1 of Article 105 (murder) and Part 4 of Article 111 of the RF Penal Code (deliberate infliction of grievous bodily harm entailing death).

According to investigators, on 13 November 2016, a businessman let a 40-year-old local resident who had showed up constantly in a production area in Kovrov to do some job. After the businessman left, the man started talking to a boiler man and the 22-year-old acquaintance. The three of them had sometimes drank alcoholatures. During the conversation, the suspect beat up the 40-year-old man who died on the scene.

After the crime the young man continued his conversation with the boiler man and when they ran out of money, they conspired to steal something from the neighboring plant, however, the boiler man heard a noise of an approaching car and ran away enraging the suspect. He hit the victim with a sledgehammer on the head, poured some fuel on the man and set him on fire.

When he was outside the plant, he realized that he had left his cell phone on the crime scene and tried to get inside the building filled with smoke, but lost consciousness from carbon monoxide inhalation.

Workers of the neighboring woodworking plant saw the fire and called the Emergency Ministry.

Investigators saw the following picture on the scene: the young man was lying unconscious near the entrance, the dead body of the 30-year-old boiler man was on the first floor and the body of the 40-year-old man on the second.

The suspect came to consciousness quickly enough, got necessary medical attention and was detained.

At present investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime, while the suspect is expecting a custodial restraint.
