On the afternoon of 19 November 2016, Novgorod Region law-enforcement authorities got a report that dead bodies of an 84-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man had been found in different houses in the village of Lazaritsy, Parfino District, Novgorod Region with signs of violent death on them. The Novrogod Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation in a murder of two or more people under Part 2, item “a” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.
A team of the most experienced investigators and criminalists of the regional investigative authority took off for the scene. Thanks to well-planned operations of the investigators and police officers the crime has been solved in the shortest time. Two suspects of the murders have been identified and detained. They are 15-year-old and 19-year-old residents of the village of Lazaritsy, Parfino District.
According to investigators, on the night of 19 November, the suspects got into the elderly woman’s house and beat her demanding money. The woman shoed them where the money was and they took 11,000 rubles. To conceal the crime the teenagers stabled the victim several times in the neck. The woman died at the scene. The suspects hid the body in a wardrobe and took off. The young people then decided to steal a car from the neighboring house. They got into the house and stabbed the elderly man multiple times in the chest. Having made sure that the victim was dead, they took his Oka car and took off.
At present, investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the murders. The investigation is ongoing.
