The Ingushetia Office of the RF Investigative Committee has opened an investigation into an attempt on the life of law-enforcers under Article 317 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 24 November 2016, at 7 AM, two local residents armed with guns fought back against agents of the Ingushetia Office of the Federal Security Service who were carrying out an operation in a house in Abadiyev Street in the town of Nazran, to hold members of illegal armed groups. Two agents were wounded and died in a hospital.

The law-enforcers opened fire and killed the attackers.

The Investigators have found and seized from the scene two Kalashniko submachine guns with 22 and 16 5.45 mm cartridges, cartridge cases of different calibers and a gun silencer.

Preliminary procedural and investigative operations have been carried out. The scene has been examined, witnesses questioned and forensic examinations assigned. Other investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
