Probe launched against head of Caucasus security service of FSO General Gennady Lopyryov

The Major Cases Directorate of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against the Head of the Caucasus Security Service of the Russia’s Federal Protective Service (FSO) General Gennady Lopyryov suspected of taking bribes on a very large scale (part 6 of Article 290 of the RF Penal Code) from top managers of a number of commercial companies for patronage while finalizing and executing government contracts on repair and construction.  The case was opened based on the files provided by the Federal Protective Service together with operative divisions of the Federal Security Service.

Lopyryov has been detained and charged. Necessary investigative operations are underway.
