In St. Petersburg men held on suspicion of abducting CEO of company

The Saint Petersburg office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in a crime under Part 2, items “a”, “c” and “h” of Article 126 of the RF Penal Code (abduction).

According to investigators, several people abducted a 29-year-old man, who is CEO of a company, about noon on 24 November 2016, near a house in Grotta Street. They held him in a flat in Opochinina Street and demanded to give them some 250 thousand rubles. On 28 November 2016, when the abductors were away the man managed to get rid of handcuffs and called for help through a window. He later was released by responders of emergency services.

The investigators together with Saint Petersburg police have detained three suspects aged 26, 31 and 32.

At present, necessary operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime, including interrogation of the suspects. They are now expecting charges and restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
