In Moscow Region, probe continues in killing child

As became known earlier, the Moscow Region office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in a crime under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder of a child) following disappearance of an 8-year-old boy.

The dead body of the boy has been found in a forest near Lyamtsinsky cemetery of Domodedovo during well-planned investigative and search operations. According to preliminary information, the cause of his death was asphyxiation by strangulation.

A preliminary investigation has found that a 36-year-old local resident was involved in the crime. The suspect has been detained and is now being interrogated. Investigators are going to file a request to remand the suspect in custody pending trial.

The investigators are checking if the man sexually abused the victim and looking into other circumstances surrounding the crime.

Following an order of the head of the Investigative Committee’s Moscow Region Directorate the case has been passed on for further investigation to the first major cases department. The most experienced investigators and criminalists are involved in the ongoing investigation.
