Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin and artistic director of the Mariinsky Theater, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Valery Gergiyev have signed today an agreement on cooperation between the agency and the theater.
The agreement provides for cooperation of the parties in cultural and creative education of Russian citizens, especially the younger generation, including cultivation of love and pride of their country, respect for the history of Russia and achievements of older generations, encouragement of law-abiding behavior and active civic position. The aim of the cooperation is drawing attention of the state authorities, business community and public to charity, patronage, provision of support and attention to war veterans, veterans of investigative authorities, members of their families and the families of the officers killed in the line of duty.
The parties agreed to hold joint patriotic, cultural events, recitals attended by employees of the Investigative Committee, young investigators, cadets and students of Investigative Committee’s educational institutions.
Signing the agreements Alexander Bastrykin and Valery Gergiyev who is also an honorary member of the Civic Council under the Investigative Committee, expressed their confidence that such cooperation would create conditions to increase the civic responsibility and participation in the great history and culture of Russia, ensuring succession of generations, development of patriotic and moral education of the staff of the Committee and theater, as well as of cadets and students.
In the conclusion of the meeting Mr. Bastrykin awarded Mr. Gergiyev with the Committee’s medal “For pure intentions and noble deeds”.
