In Perm Territory, director of organization found guilty of providing services that entailed death of two people in poorhouse

A court has recognized the evidence collected by the Perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee sufficient to convict director and co-founder of Sotsium, autonomous non-commercial organization. She was found guilty of providing services that do not meet safety standards and entailed death of two people by negligence under Part 3 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code.

The court and investigators have revealed that the accused was the director of Sotsium and provided social services with accommodation. She concluded service contracts on providing accommodation to needy people. She violated the provisions of those contracts the accused failed to ensure safety of the people accommodated in Sotsium, or to ensure fire safety, so a fire started at No B1, B, 34 in Sovetskaya Street in the settlement of Beryozovka, Beryozovka District, perm Territory. Two elderly men were killed in the fire while 18 other lives were endangered by unsafe services provided by Sotsium.

The court has sentenced the woman to 1.5 years in a minimum-security correctional facility.
