The Moscow Directorate of the Investigative Committee has charged a 36-year-old driver with violation of traffic code and operation of a vehicle involving grievous bodily harm under Part 1 of Article 264 of the RF Penal Code.

As became known earlier, On 12 December 2016, the man was driving a Gelandewagen on Mosfilmovskaya Street downtown ran over 8-year-old twin girls. The girls with their mother were crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing and on green lights.

The suspect has been charged and put under house arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
