Cadets of Investigative Committee’s Alexander Nevsky Cadet School take oath of young soldiers

A ceremony of taking the oath by cadets of the Investigative Committee’s Alexander Nevsky Cadet School has been held today at the Central Museum of the Great patriotic War of 1941-1945 at Poklonnaya Mountain in the presence of Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin.

The event was also attended by: Chairman of the State Duma’s Defense Committee, retired Colonel General Vladimir Shamanov, Director of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet School hero of the Soviet Union Igor Zaporozhan, Head of the Training Department Hero of the Russian Federation Sergei Petrov, President of the Interregional NGO Outstanding Military and Naval Commanders of the Fatherland acting state councilor of justice Alexander Sukharev, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Association of NGOs of investigation veterans Union of Investigation Veterans Vladimir Dontsov, Chancellor of the All-Russian State University of Justice (RPA) Olga Aleksandrova, a member of the Federation Council’s Security and Defense Committee, Chairman of the Cadet School’s Board of Trustees, teachers and students of the Cadet School, as well as students’ relatives, guests of honor and children from Donbass, including Vanya Voronov severely wounded there during selling.

Opening the ceremony, Mr. Zaporozhan reminded that “Russian President supported an initiative of the RF Ministry of Defense to create the All-Russian Military Patriotic Movement Yunarmiya to unite and coordinate the activity of youth military patriotic organizations, to develop governmental and non-governmental initiatives for stronger defense of the Russian Federation. Today we are attending an important event – swearing in our cadets as members of Yunarmia. This is the moment to remeber for both the cadets and their parents and it is not a coincidence that the event is held here, in the Hall of Fame at the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, as cadets are successors of heroic traditions of our ancestors since Alexander Nevsky and Dmitry Donskoy, heroes of the battle of Borodino and the Great Patriotic War.”

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee congratulated the cadets, their parents and teachers on the swearing in. He pointed out that the Alexander Nevsky Cadet School of the Investigative Committee could not stay away from the activity of Yunarmia movement which united thousands of boys and girls who love their Fatherland and sincerely wishing wellbeing to their to their homeland. Wishing success and excellent marks to members of Yunarmia, Mr. Bastrykin noted that the rank brings in great responsibility: “You have chosen one of the hardest, noblest and most courageous professions and soon you will come up to take the place of the current generation of investigators. The future of Russia is in your hands.”

Those in attendance noted the symbolism of the event being held in December when the whole country marks the 75th anniversary of the Red Army’s counterattack near Moscow, and in the Museum of the Great Patriotic War which keeps relics of that time and the memory of heroes who gave their lives for their Motherland and Victory.

 97% of graduates of the Cadet School continue studying in Russian universities. While studying, cadets are taught patriotism, preparedness to protect their country, ability to improve their physical fitness, intellectual, cultural and moral development, loyalty to their duty, discipline, proper attitude to their studies, desire to master the profession of an investigator and respect to state service.
