Three suspects of embezzling money allocated to build Vostochny space launching site to stand trial

The Head Office of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against Andrei Yartsev, Vladimir Deniskin and Nikolai Shkadin. Depending on the role of each one they are charged with crimes under Part 4 of Article 160 (embezzlement), Part 3 of Article 33, Part 4 of Article 160 (organization of embezzlement) and Part 5 of Article 33, part 4 of Article 160 of the RF Penal Code (complicity in embezzlement).

According to investigators, in 2012-2013, head of Spetsstroyservis under Spetsstroy of Russia Andrei Yartsev and director of OOO Stroykonstuktsia S Anatoly Ryazanov together with CEO of ZAP Stroykonstruktsia Nikolai Shkandin, his deputy director Igor Novikov and Vladimir Deniskin acted as an organized group when embezzled more than 1.1 billion rubles, the funds from the federal budget entrusted to Yartsev, for the benefit of OOO Stroyconstruktsia S, a limited liability company owned by Ryazanov and another accomplice. They bought from Stroykonstruktsia S some metalwork to construct facilities of the Vostochny space launching site at overrated prices, while the real expenses for the said goods were about 600 million rubles.

The investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case with the signed indictment will soon be referred to court.

The case against Novikov was also referred to court. Anatoly Ryazanov has been sentenced to 4 years in a minimum-security correctional facility.
