In St. Petersburg, charges pressed against woman who kidnapped baby

The Saint Petersburg Office of the Investigative Committee has charged Natalya Fyodorova, 46, with kidnapping under Part 2, item “e” of Article 126 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, the afternoon of 2 February 2017, the ex-con stole a pram with a two-year-old boy near school No 416 at No 1/35 in Erlerovsky boulevard. The drunken woman was detained by police near Avtovo metro station during well-planned investigative and search operations. The baby was unharmed and has been give back to the parents.

Fyodorova has confessed to the crime, but refused to give evidence.

The investigators have requested courts to place the accused in custody pending trial. The investigation is ongoing.
