The Northwestern Transport Office of the Investigative Committee has finished the investigation against head of a department – surgeon of Uzlovaya Hospital on OAO Russian Railways Rybinsk station charged with negligent homicide due to malpractice under Part 2 of Article 109 of the RF Penal Code.

Investigators have revealed that the surgeon was negligent during a surgery and damaged a wall of the intestine complicated by fibropurulent peritonitis, intoxication, severe dystrophy of parenchymatous organs, a brain edema accompanied by septic shock. After the surgery the patient developed low blood pressure and her condition was assessed as grave. The patient died of complication in the form of general peritonitis and interintestinal abscess with multiple organ failure and septic shock.

The investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case has been forwarded for the indictment to be signed.
