The Bashkortostan Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation against a 31-year-old loader driver suspected of negligent homicide due to malpractice under Part 2 of Article 109 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, in the afternoon of 9 February 2017, the loader driver was driving an Amkodor loader and clearing snow near a house in the settlement of Timashevo under an oral agreement with the owner of the house. The driver dumped the snow on the side of the road making a mound which blocked his view on the other side of the mound.

The investigators believe that the driver had failed to make sure that there were no people around though working near a playground he should and could have foreseen it with due caution and care. He dumped the snow on a child he did not notice on the other side of the mound. The 11-year-old died at the scene of asphyxiation.

At present investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
