The Rostov Region office of the Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings against a 29-year-old woman from Radionovo-Nesvetaiskaya District suspected of attempted murder under part 3 of Article 30, Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on the morning of 18 February, the woman tried to smother her 1-year-old daughter with a pillow, but she was broken off by her relatives.

At present, the suspect is in detention. The investigators have ordered forensic medical inquiries, and are conducting other investigative operations to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
