In Sverdlovsk Region, man found guilty of killing six

A court has recognized the evidence collected by the fourth office of the Investigative Committee’s Directorate based in the city of Yekaterinburg as sufficient to convict Arsen Bairambekov. He was found guilty of killing two or more people under Part 2 of Article 105 and illegal circulation of firearms under Part 1 of Article 222 of the RF Penal Code.

The court and investigators have established that Bairambekov committed six murders in Sverdlovsk Region from 2002 to 2014. In 2003 and in 2010, he shot to death two businessmen from Yekaterinburg for a reward. The men who had ordered those two murders have also been prosecuted.

In 2014, being interested in occultism Bairambekov killed four residents of Sverdlovsk Region with complicity of his 42-year-old acquaintance. Bairambekov had made the acquaintance of his victims and then under different pretexts offered them a ride around the city, and after that took them to a specially prepared place, immobilized them and committed ritual killing. During the murders Bairambekov followed the rules of offering: he killed at night, in the woods, near a fire in a circle of stones and accompanied the crime by praying.

The investigators revealed that before the crimes Bairambekov had served in the Dagestan police force during a year. Three psychiatric evaluations found him sane.

The court has sentenced Bairambekov to 13 years 2 months in a maximum-security correctional facility and to 1 year 6 months of restricted freedom.

There is an ongoing investigation against his accomplice.
