Alexander Bastrykin expresses sympathies for injured and offers deepest condolences to families of killed in St. Petersburg metro terror attack

The whole country is mourning today the victims of a terrible terrorist attack in Saint Petersburg. Our loss is irreplaceable, this appalling crime is a challenge to all citizens of Russia. On these days of mourning sympathies and support are coming from all over the world.

We are doing everything possible to bring those behind it to justice. A team of skilled investigators and criminalists of the Investigative Committee’s Central Office are now working in Saint Petersburg. All law enforcement agencies have joined efforts to identify all those involved in the attack. The investigation is being supervised by senior officials in person.

Our deepest and sincerest condolences go out to the families and friends of the killed and injured. We wish speediest recovery to all the wounded for whose lives doctors are fighting at the moment.

Today we need to stand together to fight the greatest threat of modern time – terrorism!
