Following a request filed by the Saint Petersburg Office of the Investigative Committee a court has ruled to place Nikita Kravchenko suspected of beating a child in custody pending trial.

According to investigators, Kravchenko was driving his Kia vehicle on the afternoon of 9 April 2017. He attacked a 10-year-old boy with a scooter who was crossing the road on green lights near No 27 in Lanskoye highway. He hit the child on the head, threw his scooter on top of him and then fled. The child was taken to hospital, treated and then discharged.

Witnesses and the injured boy have been questioned. The suspect’s car has been examined and his flat has been searched. Charges are going to be pressed shortly. The investigation is ongoing.
