Some regional media reported on 12 April that a man injured a female district doctor in the town of Chelyabinsk, who had arrived to provide medical aid to his daughter. The doctor suffered a brain injury, concussion and bruises.

The Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee has checked and confirmed the reports. The man is now a suspect of battery under Article 116 and a murder threat or infliction of grievous bodily harm under Part 1 of Article 119 of the RF Penal Code.

Investigative operations are underway to gather and document evidence. The man is expecting charges and a restraint. The investigation is ongoing.

The Investigative Committee reminds that it is going to prevent any attack on doctors and bring to justice anyone who impedes medical workers.
